Volunteers and participants from across JPMorganChase offices in India recently celebrated women in technology at an event themed ‘Remarkable Together.’ Employees from Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Noida all joined the day of discussion, storytelling and inspiration.

Vibhavari Jahagirdar, Head of Global Technology for India and Co-Lead for Global Post Trade Technology, shared insights on collaborating and learning. Then, Scot Baldry, Chief Information Officer for Corporate Technology, spoke of the importance of allyship towards employees.

The day included an engaging discussion on the transformative power of GenAI and how it is empowering innovation in the industry. In another session, women technologists told ‘stories for the soul,’ sharing how they navigated challenges along their career journeys. From overcoming a life-altering medical condition and the death of a parent, to moving into a technical role, and, turning a small idea into a powerful differentiator for our business clients — each story was inspirational.

Sowmya Nuttaki, a director of software engineering in Hyderabad, spoke about the importance of having the right mentors to help you reach your goals in any field. “It is important to surround yourself with like-minded and positive people,” she said.

Megha Juneja, a senior manager of software engineering, discussed how she refused to let a major medical diagnosis at the age of 22 define her life.

"The acceptance and support I got here at JPMorganChase helped boost my confidence,” Juneja said. “I have grown over the last few years personally and professionally. Now I’m part of an expert engineering program here at the firm."

Highlighting her journey, Juneja shared, “Throughout these years, I’ve faced many struggles— physical mobility issues, vision problems, and many other invisible challenges, but I never gave up, continuing to pursue opportunities and upskill my knowledge, be it by working on projects, completing certifications, and more. This has kept me motivated and provided continuous growth in my career.” Juneja added that courage isn’t the absence of fear or struggle; it’s the determination to keep going, no matter what.

The main takeaway from the day was to embrace your own journey with renewed courage, resilience, and dedication to self-improvement, which can play a vital role in success.
