Charles Lim, PhD

Head of Networking and Security, Global Technology Applied Research

Dr. Charles Lim is the Head of Networking and Security for Global Technology Applied Research, overseeing a team of researchers and engineers working on next-generation networking and cryptography solutions. Dr. Lim is currently on no-pay leave from the National University of Singapore, where he is Associate Professor (tenured) at the College of Design and Engineering. In 2019, he received the highly prestigious National Research Foundation (NRF) Fellowship in Singapore and the National Young Scientist Award for his work in quantum networking and cryptography. In 2021, he was called upon to lead Singapore's national quantum-safe network, a research project funded by NRF Quantum Engineering Program 2.0. Dr. Lim was the program chair for QCRYPT 2022 and has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles, in top journals like Nature, Nature Photonics, Nature Communications, and Science Advances. He joined QCRYPT Steering Committee in 2023. From 2023 to 2024, he served as the Co-Chair of WEF's Global Future Council on the Future of Quantum Economy.
