One of the greatest opportunities for J.P. Morgan Payments is to advance our presence with the global technology and product communities and demonstrate how payments can be instrumental in driving business growth and seamless user experiences in today’s dynamic market.

J.P. Morgan is traditionally known as a leading financial institution, but there is now growing awareness of our ability to innovate and operate like a fintech, and the role we are playing as a positive disruptor helping lead the charge toward the future of payments. By blending leading product innovation with the trust, security and foundation of our institutional backbone, we are uniquely positioned as a “Fintech with Foundation.”

Payments, the transfer of money in exchange for a product or service, are the lifeblood of any business. Biometrics, digital assets, our Developer Portal and enterprise-grade blockchain efforts are just a few of the technological advancements we are making that are changing the payments landscape at scale.

But for the increasingly important payments audience of technologists, developers and digital-native businesses, traditional advertising methods and traditional finance industry events and media platforms simply don’t reach them.

Enter our unique partnership with leading technology and business podcast Acquired.1

J.P. Morgan Payments became the presenting partner of Acquired’s Season 14 in January 2024 and has successfully transformed and elevated its perception among Acquired's highly engaged audience of C-suite and product leaders across the tech, VC and finance industries.2

Acquired tells the stories and strategies of great companies and has been ranked the #1 Technology podcast series in the U.S. on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. The show reaches nearly 1 million listeners per month, and episodes are better described as "conversational audiobooks" rather than a podcast. The Wall Street Journal writes, "By turning case studies into cinematic spectacles, they have built the business world’s favorite podcast."

By working with Acquired and leveraging its leading platform, we have been able to showcase how payments is powering growth across key industries and for some of the world's most iconic and successful businesses. From healthcare and retail to technology and luxury fashion, listeners can discover how our end-to-end payment solutions are driving innovation and business success. This created an opportunity for J.P. Morgan Payments to align a range of our innovative offerings with relevant topics and companies covered throughout Season 14 of Acquired. In addition, many episodes already cover J.P. Morgan Payments clients and partners, so there's natural synergy for us to share the role we have played in a company’s success story.

In Season 14, with J.P. Morgan Payments as presenting partner, the episodes highlighted a range of innovative companies.

And in September, we took this partnership to the next level.

“My definition of a great partnership is one where you can achieve something together that neither of you are capable of doing on your own,” said Ben Gilbert, co-host of Acquired. “Anytime we’re telling the story of somebody building their business, payments is a centerpiece of that. And that’s the J.P. Morgan Payments story."
