1870s - J.S. Morgan & Co., operated by Junius Morgan, father of J. Pierpont Morgan, participates in several significant loans to the Swedish government

1900 – J.P Morgan & co. participates in several Danish government bons, including one for Danish Provincial Railways

1919 – National bank of Commerce in New York opens and office in Copenhagen

1962 - Chemical Bank’s chairman Harold H. Helm the decoration of Commander of the Royal Order of St. Olav in recognition for the banks role in helping rebuild Norway’s economy after World War II

1973 - The First National Bank of Chicago opens a representative office in Stockholm

1974 - Manufacturers Hanover Trust opens a representative office in Oslo. The focus of this office is the growing energy industry in Scandinavia

1982 - The Chase Manhattan Bank opens a subsidiary in Helsinki

1990 - J.P. Morgan arranges a $230m, seven-year issue to the Republic of Finland, the first benchmark government bond issue ever done

2008 - J.P. Morgan acquisition of Nordea’s institutional global custody portfolio, broadening the firms presence across Nordic region

2009 – J.P. Morgan’s Corporate bank expands its offering to the Nordic region

2019 – J.P. Morgans’ Private Bank enters the Nordics with a presence in Stockholm

2020 – J.P. Morgans investment banking team deeps its physical footprint In the Nordic Market.

2022 – J.P. Morgan’s Commercial bank launches in the Nordics

2023 – J.P. Morgan moves into new offices in Helskink and Stockholm reflection the firms dynamic growth across the region.

2024 – in 2024 we are celebrating our exceptional journey across the Nordic region
