Social Sector Finance

Social Sector Finance

J.P. Morgan's Social Sector Finance (SSF) unit brings financial services and financing to microfinance institutions and other enterprises servicing the base of the economic pyramid.  The group serves as the center of expertise and client contact for social sector business opportunities.  The geographic scope is global, with particular focus on developing countries where J.P. Morgan has presence.  SSF is founded on the premise that it is possible to achieve a 'double bottom line' of both social benefits and positive financial returns.  We see those objectives as being complementary, not mutually exclusive.

Our clients and partners include:

  • Multinational and bilateral development banks
  • Microfinance networks, holding companies and investment funds
  • Commercial and transforming microfinance institutions
  • Non governmental organizations seeking investment banking advisory services
  • Enterprises and funds serving the base of the economic pyramid
  • Socially-motivated investors
